GET INVOLVED! You can make a difference in our San Joaquin Valley by getting involved with many excellent organizations that promote education, enjoyment, and care of our local environment.

California Native Plant Society - Sequoia Chapter Native plants are the foundation of ecological health! Dedicated to this biodiversity hotspot of the planet, the local chapter provides opportunities to learn about native plant preservation, restoration, viewing and gardening. Volunteer to help CNPS efforts to resetore China Creek Park - a prime stand of local Valley Oaks.  
Central Valley Electric Vehicles Your vehicle choices can cherish the planet! A Facebook group dedicated to promoting clean electric vehicle use, providing news and information about local events, developing technologies, electric vehicle advice, and more.  
Clovis Botanical Garden Beauty and sustainability! View the beautiful demonstration gardens and learn how to improve the environment through landscaping with water-wise plants. Volunteer to help around the garden and learn how to become a water-wie gardener at the same time.  
Fresno Audubon Society

It's about more than just birds! Mission: to engage local communities in building a sustainable environment for people, birds, and other wildlife through education, science, and advocacy. Fresno Audubon hosts many educational programs, sponsors field trips and birding classes, advocates for local environmental conservation, engages community members in outdoor Citizen Science learning opportunities, and publishes the online blog – The Yellowbill.

 
Fresno Garden Collective Create a better world by gardening! A Facebook group: "We are a network of urban gardeners, farmers, or aspiring growers in Fresno, CA. We aim to connect people with inspiration and resources to grow a more just and resilient food system."  
San Joaquin River Parkway Our local environmental treasure!  The Parkway's mission is to establish a 33-mile greenway along the San Joaquin River from Friant Dam to Skaggs Bridge north of Kerman. The Parkway provides opportunities for recreation, education, and volunteer service.  
Sequoia Riverlands Trust Saving the southern San Joaquin! Sequoia Riverlands Trust preserves and manages several critical habitat areas in the South Valley & Sierras, such as Kaweah Oaks Preserve outside Visalia. There are opportunities for recreation, education, and volunteer service.  
Sierra Club - Tehipite Chapter The original environmental organization! The Sierra Club was founded over one hundred years ago by John Muir. Tthe local Tehipite chapter offers educational and inspirational information about this area and the world, advocates for environmental preservation, and organizes outings to enjoy our exceptional local region.  
Sierra Foothill Conservancy Preserving our backyard! The Conservancy preserves critical foothill endangered species and unique habitats between Yosemite and Kings Canyon Parks, while also supporting traditional cattle ranching using sustainable practices. Opportunities for outings, education and volunteer service connect you to these outstanding lands.  
Tree Fresno Plant a tree and save the world! Tree Fresno has planted over 50,000 trees in our local area. You can volunteer to help plant trees or learn more about how to improve your own lot with trees.
